Aishwarya Rai born on November 1st, 1973 in Mangalore is one of the finest actresses the Indian cinema has ever seen. She is known across the world as the 'Princess of Bollywood' and "Reigning Queen of Indian Cinema'. The goddess of beauty and the diva of Indian cinema, Aishwarya Rai since her winning the Miss World crown in 1994 is still considered as the 'Most Beautiful Woman in the World'.
Born in Mangalore in the state of Karnataka in India on 1 st November 1973, Aishwarya Rai has enormous faith in God and her friends. She attends prayers offered to Lord Ganesha at her home. Krishnaraj and Vrinda Rai are her parents and they right now live together in Mumbai.
Aishwarya Rai's aim was to be become an architect. She took up modeling as a part time job and she also appeared in commercials. Her Tamil film "Jeans" directed by S Shankar became the biggest hit. Aishwarya Rai gave a magnificent performance in a dual role which won her several awards including Filmfare Best Actress Award South. Her next hit "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" {1999} too garnered several awards including Filmfare Best Actress Award. Giving award winning performances has become a regular phenomenon with Aishwarya Rai. Her marvelous performance in "Devdas" {2001} too won her several awards including Filmfare Award.
Besides winning three awards from Filimfare, she received six more nominations for her performances in various films and also won several other major awards in India for movies such as "Taal" {1999}, "Mohabbatein" {2000}, "Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai" {2000}, "Raincoat" {2004}, "Dhoom" {2006} and "Guru" {2007}. Aishwarya Rai has also appeared in English movies such as "Bride and Prejudice" {2004}, "Mistress of Spices" {2005}, "Provoked" and the "The Last Legion" {both released in 2007}.
Aishwarya Rai was romantically involved with Salman Khan and later with Vivek Oberoi. Later she finally landed in the arms of Abhishek Bachchan, who she married on April of 20th, 2007 in a private ceremony held at Amitabh Bachchan's residence.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has become India’s highest paid heroine for doing Shankar’s magnum opus Robot opposite Superstar Rajinikanth. Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that she has signed up the film produced by Ayngaran International Films and Eros International for a whopping Rs 6 crore ($ 1.5 million)! No heroine in Indian films has been paid such a high amount.
Ash has also managed to get top billing in the ad campaign released by the producers. It is learnt that Aishwarya wanted equal billing in the advertisements with Rajinikanth and above director Shankar! She has pulled it off, as it was apparently one of her conditions for signing the film. It was always a dream for Rajinikanth to be paired opposite the former Miss World since his Padayappa days. Manish Malhotra, the fashion designer of the film, flew to London and New York to pick up her wardrobe for the two songs that will be picturised in this schedule of the film.
